I wrote exclusively for musical theatre up until about 2002. Here are some songs from my musicals. Lyrics are mine unless otherwise noted. THE RED SCARE - 1994A one-act comic farce. Written with Arlo Williams. Trudy is the youngest sibling in a family-run crayon import business. She wants desperately to fit in, but can't seem to gain the family's respect. When a huge order from China is botched, the family must come together to make things right in a big hurry.
A NOLAND BIRTHDAY - 1995A one-act drama. Written with Arlo Williams. After the death of his father, a semi-retarded son insists it's his birthday every single day. The family plays along until tensions finally explode.
4AM BOOGIE BLUES - 1998A full length a cappella comedy. Diana hasn't been able to sleep. One night, at 4AM, her anxieties take on the personas of six "boogies" who aren't going to let her sleep until she's dealt with all her problems. Produced in Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, and New York. Book and most lyrics by Marsha Meyers.
NORTH WIND BLOWIN' - 1991A musical drama about hoboes riding the rails during the Depression. Book by David Tucker. The show saw several workshop productions but never really made the light of day. This was the opening song from the show, and though my rendition leaves something to be desired, I'm very proud of the song itself.
